Cheltenham Town Community Trust – Full Time Education Programme - BTEC Level 3 in Sports Studies 2017/18
Cheltenham Community Trust are once again recruiting 18 players between the ages 16-18 to become part of the Futsal and Education Scholarship Programme from
September 2017. Students will enrol on a 2 year full time education programme, studying Level 3 BTEC in Sport (Equivalent to 3 A levels), whilst competing in a National Futsal League representing
Cheltenham Town FC.
The Community Trust is established as one of the top schemes in the Football League Trust Education & Futsal Programme
The Futsal and Education Scholarship Programme is going into its fifth year and delivers a first class full time education programme alongside professional Futsal
coaching. The Scholars study at the football club and play competitive Futsal fixtures against other professional Football Clubs including Southampton, West Brom & Cardiff City just to mention a
All students are guaranteed to play in the matches at every fixture.
The programme aims to provide 16-18 year olds with the underpinning knowledge and expertise in the field of sport, for students with aspirations to have a career in
sport, sports coaching, P.E Teaching, Physiotherapy, Sports Management or Sports Science.
Cheltenham Community Trust has succesfully delivered the Level 3 BTEC in Sports Studies for the past four years, with a large percentage of the scholars achieving
grades high enough to enrol in a number of Universities across the country including our own Honours Degree programme (in association with the University of South Wales). The BTEC course is Fully
Funded (Free of Charge) and students are registered with Swindon Academy's Sixth Form. All applicants should attain 4 GCSE grades at 4/5 (old system C) or above, ideally including Maths and

The 18 players will follow the same coaching patterns as the other Cheltenham Town FC Scholars, with a typical weekly schedule consisting of 2 training sessions, 12
hours of Education and a fortnightly fixture in the Futsal National Youth League, as well as receiving full CTFC kit.
